Chrysler Financial Fueled By TARP

The automaker's financing arm scores a $1.5B loan from the government.

To keep the auto industry from driving itself into the ground, the government has tapped TARP for more money. This time, Chrysler Financial is on the receiving end.

On Friday, the U.S. Treasury announced it will loan $1.5 billion to a special purpose entity created by Chrysler Financial to help the company finance new consumer auto loans.
