Zap a Contender for X Prize 100mpg Car

Designers Compete For the X Prize: Best 100mpg Automotive Design


Recently accepted to compete in the Automotive X PRIZE from Progressive Insurance, the ZAP Alias is an electric car for two with highway speed

The X PRIZE is open to any company who can design and build an affordable production car with 100 miles-per-gallon capability, regardless of technology. Gas, hybrid, electric, or any other combination of technologies are eligible. To win, they must be affordable and safe. The alternative category of the PIAXP, was designed to encourage creativity in vehicle designs.

Currently, over 35 teams worldwide have been accepted as contenders for the PIAXP, with a prize of $10 million at stake.
