Students Aged 9-21 Design Electric Car?

Greenpower promotes engineering and technology as careers to students aged 9-21 through hands-on projects to design, build and race an electric car. Starting in 1999, it has become increasingly popular, with a record 400 teams competing in 2008 and last year, Greenpower launched the Corporate Challenge, allowing companies to pit their wits against the top 15 school teams, by building and racing a car to the same regulations in an annual event.

In 2008, Jaguar Land Rover recruited nearly 400 graduates as part of its investment for the future. Shortly after starting, a team of new recruits from engineering and commercial functions, decided to participate in a project to get them thinking about sustainable motoring, investigate the latest environmentally efficient materials and to look at new technologies.
