Hyundai to produce fuel cell cars by 2015

In 2015, Hyundai Motor Co. plans to begin commercial production of hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicles. Hyundai is the largest automaker in South Korea.

The new vehicle will be an upgraded Tucson IX, which was a fuel-cell SUV model new in 2008. Hyundai has extended the per-charge driving range to a maximum of 404 miles, a 55 percent increase. In addition, fuel efficiency has been improved by 15 percent, reports Hyundai.
