Pump and valve parts supplier puts knowledge on the line

More than a supplier of parts to the pump and valve industry, Daemar has reinvented itself as an invaluable resource for anyone sourcing fluid sealing and precision components. The company stocks hundreds of products such as O-rings, back-up rings, retaining ring, seals and cap plugs for every imaginable industrial use.

Aiming to empower users with the information they need to make informed choices regarding sealing, retaining and protection, the company has set up a range of online technical resources to help users quickly identify the correct component for their particular design application.

Users can search and compare items by key product specifications or application criteria. Related support material such as installation instructions and technical drawings are included in the online product catalogue.

Technical resources include comparison charts of materials, trouble-shooting advice and How-Tos, as well as six easy-to-use, downloadable catalogues. Typical of these is the O-Rings Catalogue. Much more than a list of products and prices, it includes a wealth of charts and notes on such concerns as fluid compatibility, properties and design.

There is also a general product catalogue that contains all the company's product offerings and shopping cart feature.

Fluid Compatibility Selector

Knowing the correct elastomer to choose for a particular application is important to achieve optimum sealing performance and to maximize the longevity of the seal. A fluid compatibility selector lets users compare the performance of various elastomers with over 500 fluids.

Comparison of Properties Chart

O-rings are used in virtually every environment: on earth, in water, in space. The O-ring chosen for a given application must be suitable for that environment.  The Comparison of Properties Chart matches the general rubber properties required in most O-ring applications with the capabilities of commonly used elastomers. Since no one elastomer is rated “excellent” for all properties, compromises are sometimes necessary when selecting an elastomer for a specific O-ring application. Users are advised to start with the most critical properties to help narrow their choices.

Pump Manufacturers Cross Reference

Daemar stocks hundreds of seal parts for pumps from dozens of leading manufacturers. A comprehensive Pump Manufacturers Cross Reference chart helps seal purchasers find the corresponding Daemar part number.

 Trouble-shooting O-rings

Recognizing that O-ring seals, like any device subject to judgment in design, or to human error during installation, are liable to failure, Daemar provides a summary of O-ring failure patterns. Intended to give the designer/engineer a brief overview of the more common types of failure, the resource includes a listing of recommended corrective actions.

Daemar distributes its products throughout North America.
