Check Out the Bold, Brash Dodge Viper
Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 05:07PM 2010 is the last model year for the current generation Viper

By Ronnie W Tanner
The Dodge Viper is a bold, brash sports car equipped with a massive 8.4L ten cylinder engine. The engine size has been increased from a 6.0L ten cylinder to an 8.0L ten cylinder engine for 2010. The 8.4L engine is the only engine available; it produces an incredible six hundred horsepower at six thousand one hundred revolutions per minute and five hundred sixty pound feet of torque at five thousand revolutions per minute. The only transmission available is a six speed manual with overdrive, and it delivers the engines power to the rear wheels. The Viper's engine is an overhead valve design that employs sequential fuel induction.
The Dodge Viper is one of the fastest cars on the road; the Viper accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour in a blistering four and two-tenths seconds, and will cover a quarter mile in twelve and three-tenths seconds at a speed of one hundred and nineteen miles per hour. In comparison, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 accelerates from zero to sixty in four and three-tenths seconds; the Porsche 911 Carrerra hits sixty miles per hour from a standstill in four and four-tenths seconds. The Viper returns fuel economy figures of thirteen miles per gallon in city driving, and twenty-two miles per gallon on the highway. Standard equipment on the Viper include air conditioning, AM/FM stereo with compact disc player, keyless remote control, and anti-lock brakes. Standard safety features include standard front and passenger airbags and an engine immobilizer. The Dodge Viper is scheduled to cease production after the 2010 model year.
