For Volkswagen Canada 2011 was best year ever

A year of strong results defined 2011 for Volkswagen Canada. December sales of 3,565 cars pushed the full year total to 52,604. This represents a new all-time high for the company, and eclipses the previous record set in 2010 by 16 per cent.

John White, the president and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada attributes the success to a combination of “well-built, well-priced cars and an excellent dealer network."

December's figures were led by the Jetta, which posted sales of 1,607 during the month. Year-to-date, a total of 26,749 were sold. This made 2011 the most successful year ever for the car, which was introduced to Canadian drivers in 1980.

The 2012 Passat was completely redesigned for the Canadian market, and now offers significantly increased interior room despite sporting a price tag lowered by thousands of dollars from its predecessor. Total Passat sales for December were 373, representing an 87 percent increase over the same month last year.
