Montreal MRO provider expands service contract with Snecma

Snecma's CFM56 engine powers the Airbus A320.

Aviation MRO-provider Aveos has signed a five-year agreement for the repair and overhaul of Snecma's CFM56-5 platform engines and Line Replaceable Units (LRU's), supporting the OEM with its additional capacity. The CFM56-5 engines power the Airbus A series from A318 through 319, including A320, A340-200 and A340-300. The CFM56 is, according to Snecma, the best-selling engine "in the history of aviation."

The new agreement extends a working relationship that has already lasted almost fifteen years during which Aveos has provided MRO services to Snecma.

Snecma is part of Safran, a leading international group of companies with core businesses in aerospace, defence and security. Snecma manufactures motors for civil and military aviation, as well as for spacecraft and satellites.

Aveos has a 515,000 sq. ft. engine facility with three test cells and has expertise on a wide range of engine families including the CF-34-3A & 3B, CF34-8C, 8E, CFM56-2A, 2B, 2C, CFM56-3B1, 3B2, 3C1, CFM56-5A, 5B, 5C and the Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7 (A-J), JT9D-7R4 (D/E). Program offerings also include component solutions, Quick Engine Change (QEC), engine management and inventory solutions.

Aveos is a full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider of airframe, engine, component and maintenance solutions to the aviation industry, from maintenance facilities across Canada and in El Salvador.
