With 83 percent of businesses in British Columbia classified as small businesses, only one chartered bank is directly focused on catering to their needs. Jameson Bank, made popular in Canada with its “concierge banking” approach to small and medium enterprises, has grown by word of mouth in British Columbia, helped by a steady base of very loyal customers.
“Demand for our white glove approach was so strong we recently recruited a new local expert in Vancouver,” said James Lau, vice chairman at Jameson Bank.
Madleine Rab, recently of Citizens Bank, joins the Jameson team locally, with a mandate to grow the market share of Jameson Bank in British Columbia, “an important and successful market for us,” she said. “Vancouver is a hub of economic activity and the main gateway to Asia Pacific. With our diverse mix of businesses and people, the Jameson concierge services are very popular.”
The stated mandate of Jameson Bank, according to Randy Dewey, vice president at Jameson Bank, “is to grow presence and market share of Jameson Bank in British Columbia.”
Ms. Rab brings 20 years of experience in Western and Eastern Canada — with expertise in strategic planning, technology, banking and marketing. She was last a vice president of business development at Citizens Bank, and has a business degree from Queens University. She came on board with Jameson Bank because, “I was impressed with the concierge white glove treatment of clients. With their approach of getting to know the client’s needs, active monitoring of accounts and proactiveness, the concierge approach translates into substantial savings opportunities for local businesses.” She added that there is a whole team of very knowledgeable people dedicated to British Columbia.
“Aside from the impressive regular economic growth in British Columbia, the 2010 Winter Games are creating a lot of additional business opportunities here,” said Ms Rab. “Small to mid size companies can get overlooked by big banks, but they are the engine of economic growth here in BC. Jameson’s hands-on approach ensures that small to mid-size companies have the same advantages as the big companies.”
Jameson Bank (Banque Jameson) is a Canada-chartered schedule one bank with sixteen years of concierge-service to business clients. Jameson Bank is best known for a “white glove” approach to banking which includes personalized one-on-one managers, delivery of services to the client’s door, and an expanding portfolio of financial services — CDIC insured — focused on treasury banking and businesses. Their slogan is “It’s taken care of” but they equally define themselves by their taglines “A business bank where you are our most important customer” and “Business banking the way it should be.”
